Redirect to HTTPS after local HTTP site browsing

zuoge (sth. or sb) else 22

We have an intranet running WordPress, and when browsing the site, the URLs start redirecting from HTTP to HTTPS. i don't know WordPress at all, and have browsed the forums with no luck.

Clearing cookies temporarily solves the problem. Stealth/InPrivate mode works successfully.

Based on advice from other forum posts I've viewed:

On the server - .htaccess. - no mention of HTTPS
Within Portal > Dashboard > Settings > General. Both sites are HTTP
Within Portal > Active Plugins doesn't seem to have anything to do with HTTPS.

What else can I try? I'm hesitant to make a change because I've seen a lot of posts about people getting locked out of the site after changing something.
