unable to update

I can't update plugins, themes and upload files to wordpress.
The problem started when I disabled litespeed on my server and enabled Nginx. Suddenly, I was asked for FTP credentials to update the plugin. I added "define('FS_METHOD', 'direct');" to my wp-config. After that, no matter which plugin I try to update, I get the error "Update failed: Unable to create directory. .../public_html/wp-content/upgrade/woocommerce-8.8.3-el".
