WordPress uploaded images with blurry front end

I'm writing a travel journal and uploaded a landscape photo with 1920 x 1080 resolution and great clarity.

After the article was published, I opened the page to see that the image had become blurry and nowhere near as clear as the original image. I clicked on the link to the original image to check it out and realized there was nothing wrong with the original image.

This confuses me: why is the frontend display so fuzzy when it's clearly uploaded in HD?

  To fix blurry images, you can do the following: make sure you are inserting full-size images and avoid using thumbnails; turn off the auto-compression or scaling settings in your theme or page builder; prepare 2x-size HD images for high resolution devices; and clear both your website cache and CDN cache to make sure that the front-end is loaded with the latest HD version.
