I recently restored a backup of a WordPress site using Hostinger's server. However, after completing the restore, I noticed that all of the custom CSS that I had added in the "Extra CSS" section of the WordPress Customizer was missing. This resulted in garbled code on the front end of the site.
This issue was so unexpected because I had thought that the process of restoring a backup would preserve all customizations, including CSS.
Problems encountered:
- Custom CSS is missing: Styles added in WordPress "Extra CSS" are not preserved after restoration.
- Inconsistent website front-end design: Due to the loss of CSS, the appearance and layout of the website became cluttered and could not render the original design.
My original hypothesis:
- I was expecting Hostinger's backup recovery process to beAutomatically includes all customized settingsIncludes style code added in "Extra CSS".
- I've tried checking the recovered files to see if there is another location where the CSS is saved, but nothing.
