Possible causes and solutions

Editing pages creates conflicts

If a gray page appears when editing with Elementor, it may be due to a conflict with one of the following plugins:

  • Other plug-ins installed and enabled
  • Scripts inserted in themes

Please follow the steps below to resolve this issue:

1. Activate safe mode. Check if it solves the problem.

  • If it helps, deactivate plugins other than Elementor and Elementor Pro one by one to find out which plugin is causing the problem to exist. 
  • If this doesn't help, contact Elementor for an official solution.

2. Solve the incompatibility problem with other plug-ins as far as possible.

3. If you find any incompatibility with the plug-in, you can replace it with a plug-in with similar functionality, or contact the official of the plug-in.

Browser installed add-ons

If a plug-in or some other extension is installed on your browser, the page may get stuck and display a gray page. It's easy to fix this problem; try switching to another browser, such as Apple Chrome.

Themes use preloaders

If the theme uses a preloader, some themes come with a preloader that may affect editing in Elementor, causing the screen to look blank. The preloader needs to be disabled in the theme options or customizer.

Incompatible versions of Elementor and Elementor Pro

If you use the free versions of Elementor and Elementor Pro at the same time, make sure that the versions are compatible. Using a new version with an older version may cause conflicts. This is because the new version may use code or features that are not recognized by the old version. Update both (Elementor and Elementor Pro) to the latest version.
