Now, the need to register an app and get data from the Facebook Graph API in order to embed content can take a lot of time and effort. As a result, WordPress developers have decided to stop supporting Facebook and Instagram embedding. If Facebook content was previously added to a website using oEmbed, that content may not display properly now.
How to Fix Facebook and Instagram oEmbed Issues
The easiest way to solve the oEmbed issue is to use the free Smash Balloon plugin. If you want to embed Instagram posts in WordPress, then you will need theSmash Balloon Social Photo FeedPlug-ins.
The plugin needs to be installed and activated first. After installing either plugin, simply go toInstagram Feed " oEmbedsmaybeFacebook Feed " oEmbeds, depending specifically on the plugin used. WordPress will now display that particular post. When you're ready to publish the post, just click Update or Publish. You will now see the social media post in real time when you visit the page.
Another option is to add Instagram or Facebook posts to a widget-ready area such as a sidebar. This way, the same post can be promoted on every page of your website.
For example, one could embed the most popular Instagram posts or posts promoting sales or social media contests used to grow the site.
To add a Facebook or Instagram post to the widget-ready area, simply go to theAppearance " WidgetsThen click on the blue "+" button. In the search field, you will need to type "embedded" to find the correct block.
When the Embed block appears, drag it to the area where you want to display the Facebook or Instagram post. For example, we're displaying Instagram photos in a WordPress sidebar widget.
In the Embed field, simply paste the URL of the Instagram or Facebook post you want to display on your website, then click Embed.
WordPress will now display that particular post. If you're happy with how it looks, just click "Update" to make it work.
