The easiest way to lock down access to content is to use theMemberPressPlugin Create Membership. It is a membership plugin for WordPress that helps administrators earn money by charging one-time or recurring fees for exclusive content.

MemberPress is a premium plugin and requires at least a basic plan to get started.

Step 1: Setting up the MemberPress plugin

Start by downloading and installing the MemberPress plugin.

Once activated, from the WordPress dashboard go to MemberPress " SettingsThen go to "authorization"Tab.

From here, simply enter the license key and click "Activate license key" button. The key can be found in the MemberPress account area.

After that, switch to "disbursements" tab and add the payment gateway. Continue and click the "+ Add payment method"Button.

MemberPress works with many of the top payment providers such as PayPal, Stripe and Authorize.net.

Simply enter the payment method name and click "gateway (Internet or between networks)" drop-down menu to select the service.

Step 2: Create Membership Levels

After connecting a payment provider to MemberPress, the next step is to create different membership levels. For each membership, you can specify the level of access for users to view restricted content.

To get started, simply go from the WordPress admin panel to theMemberPress " Memberships  and then click on "Add New"Button.

Next, you can enter a title for your new membership and add a description as needed.

In the right panel, you will see options to set the price and validity period of the membership plan. For example, you can choose a recurring or one-time billing type and select annual, monthly, weekly or customized intervals.

After that, you can scroll down to "Membership Options"Meta-Frame.

Here, one will see different options for editing the text of the signup button, customizing permissions and other membership options.

Step 3: Restrict WordPress Content for Registered Users

After setting up your membership program, the next step is to lock down content on your site for registered users.

On the next screen, you can select what you want to protect and set access conditions.

First, you can click on "Protected content" under the drop-down menu and then select what you want to restrict.

MemberPress offers a wide range of conditions to choose from. Choose to protect all content, pages under specific categories or tags, individual posts or pages, and more.

If you want to limit multiple pages, then you can create a category on your website by selecting "Content in all categories" option, and then select more than one to restrict.

Similarly, it is possible to add tags to specific pages and use the "All content with tags" option to restrict access.

For the purposes of this tutorial, we have chosen to protect "single page", then enter the title of the page.

Next, click on "Conditions of Access"drop-down menu under and select "Memberships"Options.

From here, MemberPress will ask to select a membership level to allow access to content.

It can also be accessed by clicking on the "Content of the visit"Under."+" icon and select the memberships that can view the content to add multiple membership levels.

Next, scroll down to "MemberPress Unauthorized Access"Meta-Frame.

Here, find the option to show what logged out or unregistered users will see when they try to view the content.

When you're done, just scroll to the top.

From here, click "Save the Rules"Button.

Content is now successfully restricted for registered users on WordPress sites.
