How to Create a Multilingual WordPress Website with TranslatePress (01)

Start by installing and activating the TranslatePress plugin.

If you want to translate your website into multiple languages, you will also need to install the "Extra Languages" plugin. This can be done via the Download Plugins button under your account on the TranslatePress website.

After downloading the plugin, install and activate it normally like any other WordPress plugin.

After activation, you need to visit theSet "TranslatePresspage to configure the plugin settings.

First, switch to the License tab and enter the key. This can be found on the TranslatePress website under Account.

After that, you need to switch to "conventional (weapons)"Settings tab to set other settings.

The first option on this page is to select the default language of the website and the language into which you want to translate the website.

Continue and click "Save Changes" button to store the settings.

Translation of website content

To translate a website, simply click on the plugin settings page on the "Translation website" tab or a button in the WordPress admin bar.

This will open the Live Translation Editor in a new browser tab.

In this live editor, you can click on any text on the website in the right pane and TranslatePress will load it into the left column for translation.

Now click on the language into which you want to translate the string and provide the translation.

After entering the translation, click on the top "Save translation" button, and then click the "the next step"TranslatePress will automatically load the next string on the page for you to translate.

It is also possible to click directly on the drop-down menu below the default language, which will display a list of text strings on the page that can be translated. You can select a string and then provide its translation.

It is possible to translate all content on any page. This includes navigation menus, buttons, sidebar widgets, meta text, etc.

It is also possible to access any page and start translating it by clicking on a link on the screen.

TranslatePress can translate any page or article on your website as soon as you log in. Simply click the "translation page" button to access the live editor.

Once a string is translated, the plugin will automatically translate it for you elsewhere. For example, if a
article title, then the article title in the sidebar widget will also be automatically translated.

Add a language switcher to your website

A language switcher allows website visitors to select a language when visiting a website. It usually displays the flag of each country to indicate the languages available on the site.

TranslatePress can add a language switcher using a shortcode, a navigation menu item or a floating banner. The language switcher can be displayed as a logo, language name or both.

Simply add the language-switcher shortcode to the post, page or sidebar widget where you want to display the language switcher.
