Gutenberg Version 18.7 Update: New Features and Enhancements

Gutenberg version 18.7 mainly fixes a few issues, but also includes some great new features and enhancements. Here are the highlights of the update:

Drag and drop grid items in manual mode

For more precise manipulation of the grid, all grid items are now fixed in place when using manual mode. Users can move grid items in several ways:

• drag-and-drop (computing)
• Using the block mover (any direction)
• By changing the values of columns and rows in the Size sidebar

This new feature is part of the Grid Interaction and can be used behind experimental logos. (#61025)

Content panel for template widgets

The Templates section now displays a content panel in the editor settings, making managing and editing templates more intuitive and convenient. (#62034)

Other Highlights

• Text Orientation Control: Added text direction control in more blocks (site-title, site-tagline, verse, and button blocks) ( #62727).
• Sticky toggle button: The sticky toggle button for posts is now conveniently located in the "Status and Visibility" popup window (#62782).
• The document field displays: The document field is now displayed when viewing style books and style revisions, making style management clearer (#62669).
