How to Set Up Accounts and Privacy in WooCommerce

WooCommerce is an open source e-commerce plugin designed specifically for WordPress. What about when we use WooCommerce, we want to set up accounts and privacy. So, how do we set it up? Let's take a look down together!

Guest Checkout and Accounts

Guest Checkout

• Allow customers to place orders without an account: Allows customers to checkout without creating an account or logging in. Guest orders are not tied to user accounts in WordPress.
• Allow customers to log in to existing accounts at checkout: If the customer is not yet logged in, the login form will be displayed and prompted on the checkout page.

Create an account

• Customers can create accounts at checkout
• Customers are able to access their account in the "My Account" section. Page Create Account
• Automatically generate usernames from customer emails-If this setting is disabled, there will be an input box for the user to enter their username.
• Automatic generation of customer passwords-If this feature is disabled, there will be an input box for the user to set their own password.Attention:While the password strength notification will be displayed at checkout, customers can choose any password to avoid limiting conversions. For accounts created on the My Account page, passwords will need to meet certain strength requirements (i.e., a combination of number of characters and a mix of upper/lower case/numeric/symbol characters).

Account Deletion Request

• Deletion of personal data from orders: WordPress 4.9 can delete personal data upon request. In this process, if this option is enabled, user data will also be deleted from the order (if they belong to the deleted user).
• Remove download access: WordPress 4.9 can delete personal data upon request. During this process, if this option is enabled, download data belonging to the deleted user will also be deleted. If this happens, the deleted user will no longer be able to access any purchased downloads.

Personal data deletion

• Allow batch deletion of personal data from orders : Add a new batch action to remove personal data from the order page. This feature will be useful if there is a need to anonymize orders in bulk manually.

This section allows you to select a page for the privacy policy and display the privacy policy snippet on the account and checkout pages displayed to customers.

Personal data retention

This section can determine how long order data is retained in the store. The length of time the website retains data should be specified in the privacy policy; consider local laws (e.g. EU)(GDPR)The

Enter a number for each option and select a duration from days, weeks, months or years. Leaving these options blank will retain the data indefinitely.

• Retention of inactive accounts: An inactive account is an account that has neither logged in nor placed an order during the specified period.

Exporters of personal data

WordPress 4.9.6 adds the ability to export personal data associated with email addresses to an HTML file. Although these exports are not a WooCommerce feature, WooCommerce adds data to the resulting export file to export the following data:

• Customer address/account information
• Orders associated with the specified e-mail address
• Download permissions and logs associated with a given e-mail address
