How to Install and Uninstall WooCommerce

Installing and uninstalling WooCommerce is actually very similar to otherWordPress PluginAs simple as that. However, there are some additional configuration steps if you want to get the most out of WooCommerce on your site. These steps will help you set up betterWooCommerce, you can find them in the setup wizard. Installing and configuring WooCommerce is easy, you just need to follow the steps.

After activating WooCommerce, multiple items need to be added to the site for it to function properly:

• New menu item,Customize post types as wellTaxonomy of orders, products, etc.
• renewedWooCommerce Page
• New widgets and short codes.
• User roles for store managers and customers.

Deactivating and removing installed plug-insIt will not be deleted.any data in the site's database, so additional destructive steps are required.

Installation via WordPress Administrator

If you already have a website and want to add the functionality of an online store, then choosing to install WooCommerce through the WordPress admin would be the most straightforward and convenient way to do so.WordPress handles all the details of the installation and initial setup, making it easy to turn on the online store.

WooCommerce Setup Wizard

The first time you activate WooCommerce, the next screen you see after clicking Activate will beWooCommerce Setup Wizard

Multi-site network installation

In a multi-site network installationWooCommerce works the same way as most other plugins. Each site in the network shares a database, but its information is stored in different tables. Each store is set up individually.

While it is possible to activate the plugin via the web (WordPress Administration > My Site > Network Management > Plugins > Add New Plugin), such as WooCommerce and its extensions, but there is no way to share product databases, checkouts, and user accounts between sites in the network.

Only themes and plugins can be shared across a network of sites.

Revert to a previous version of WooCommerce

For security reasons, we recommend using the latest versions of all plugins and extensions on our website. In addition, the latest versions of our plugins and extensions will always have the advantage of any features and functionality now available.

To use a previous version of WooCommerce:

1. Disables and removes the current plug-in.
2. Restore a previous backup of the store database.
3.  Download in advanced viewWooCommerceof previous versions.
4. In Plugins > Add NewUpload the previous version under.
5. Activate a previous version of WooCommerce.

take note of: As mentioned in step 2, you need to check if the version of the WooCommerce database has been updated. Typically, the database is updated with each version of WooCommerce, so you will need to restore the database from the previous version of WooCommerce to make sure everything is working correctly.

That's why we strongly recommend that you make backups while setting up a staging environment when testing new versions of mission-critical software such as WooCommerce.

Uninstall WooCommerce

There are two things to keep in mind when uninstalling or removing WooCommerce.

• If you disable and remove the plugin from WordPress, theOnly the plugin and its files will be deleted. Your settings, orders, products, pages, etc... will still exist in the database.
• If you need to deletepossessWooCommerce data, including products, order data, etc., need to be able to deactivate and remove plug-ins in thebeforehandwp-config.phpModify the site's documentation.

To completely remove all WooCommerce data from your WordPress site, open the site's wp-config.php file. Scroll down until you find the bottom of the file and add the following constants in a separate line above the "That's all, stop editing" comment.

Then, when deactivating and deleting WooCommerce, it will remove all data from the WordPress website database.
